VPN Frontier — Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

Overview

VPN Frontier is a Chrome browser extension that blocks access to Russian domain zones based on IP geolocation. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how the extension works.

Data We Do NOT Collect

VPN Frontier does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data. Specifically:

IP Geolocation Checks

To determine your country, VPN Frontier sends a request to one or more third-party IP geolocation APIs (such as ipapi.co, ipinfo.io, ifconfig.co, and others selected by the user). These requests are sent directly from your browser to the API provider. VPN Frontier does not proxy, store, or log these requests. The geolocation result (country code) is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API and is never transmitted elsewhere.

Local Data Storage

The following data is stored locally in your browser:

All data is stored using Chrome's storage.local and storage.sync APIs. Synced data (settings) may be transmitted through your Google account if Chrome Sync is enabled — this is a Chrome feature, not controlled by VPN Frontier.

Permissions

VPN Frontier requires the following Chrome permissions:

Third-Party Services

VPN Frontier uses the following third-party IP geolocation APIs. Each has its own privacy policy:

You can select which services to use in the extension settings. Only selected services will receive requests.

Children's Privacy

VPN Frontier does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
